37th Bundes Festival Film

When every film has its own voice, what creates a common language?

Context

The Bundes.Festival.Film. brings together the selected works of the German Youth Film Award and the German Generations Film Award, creating a shared platform for filmmakers of different ages, backgrounds, and perspectives. Its 37th edition took place in Duisburg in 2024, presenting a programme spanning different genres, subjects, and visual languages.

Approach

The campaign takes the submitted film stills themselves as its material. Drawing on light and projection as fundamental elements of film, stills are layered, coloured, and allowed to shine through oversized translucent typography. Individual images are transformed into a collective visual identity while remaining visible within it.
